The Classical School Foundation (CSF) was established in 2008 by local school leaders deeply passionate and committed to the powerful ideals of classical Christian education and to equipping faithful young men and women for our nation. CSF leaders had experienced and recognized the significant value of classical Christian education but also various cultural and organizational issues that hinder mission achievement and more rapid expansion of classical Christian schools.
CSF was founded to further define these issues and invest resources to address these issues at a national level in a way that brings tangible benefits to local schools. We summarize these key issues in four categories:
These issues are quite typical of a growing new venture with schools and national organizations scrambling to keep up with quickly accelerating interest from faithful yet mainly inexperienced school leaders. God has richly blessed many of these schools but more are struggling or have closed their doors. CSF seeks to complement current efforts by focusing on key needs not being widely addressed by other organizations, and to bring new resources to this vital mission in our society. Classical education is about dialogue, creative ideas and shared wisdom and we hope CSF will be a part of fostering deeper conversations and innovative solutions to bolster classical Christian schools.
The CSF mission is to build bridges connecting expertise to the needs of classical Christian schools and their leaders. For the past year, CSF has been interacting with leaders in the classical Christian education community to develop the following strategic initiatives to meet these needs:
Recruit, train, certify and mentor the next generation of classical Christian school strategic and academic leaders.
Gathering experienced visionary leaders from successful classical Christian schools across the country, unified in a commitment to excellence in classical Christian education at their school and for other schools in our nation.
Connecting research and expertise to local schools to define the school’s mission, graduate profile and K-12 goals and to ensure that their instruction, curriculum, school culture and community and faculty development program are in full alignment with achieving their mission and goals.
Provide planning and development grants to connect experienced leaders with local school leaders to mentor and train strategic and academic leaders, to establish a comprehensive strategic and financial plan, and to utilize our Mission to the Classroom Program.
CSF has also initiated national efforts to improve the branding and marketing of classical Christian schools and to consolidate best practices specific to classical Christian schools.
CSF's ability to successfully implement each of these initiatives depends on significant collaboration within the classical Christian education community as well as strategic partnerships with like-minded and complimentary organizations. We are committed to developing lasting relationships with leaders to invest their time, talent and treasure in the rapid expansion of classical Christian schools fully achieving their distinctive mission and reaching financial sustainability.
We are grateful for your interest in CSF. If you have a shared vision for classical Christian education, or would like to learn more about CSF's strategic goals, please contact us. We look forward to speaking with you.
